How to travel/live well? (2022)

After rediscovering posts from my old ivodr.com blog, I decided to bring my travel stories back to life—making them accessible again and preserving the memories of an incredible journey I returned from just over two years ago.
This is Post #3. More stories to come!

After getting up and doing a short asana practice I sat down to plan further. I booked a Flixbus to Zagreb, and since I was hungry I walked to a bakery to get breakfast and coffee.
On my way there, once more I contemplated the questions I had asked myself during the last days:
What I should do? How to travel/live well?
The answer seems obvious: do what I enjoy doing!
But then I asked myself: what do I even enjoy?
Changing from a quite structured lifestyle to traveling without any plans and nothing but a rough direction (which is up for discussion as well) I understood that I had the challenge and chance to reinvent or redesign my life.
So I started to brainstorm what I felt like doing…
- Hitch hike on country roads through small villages in balkans, eat local food, sleep in guesthouses, or in peoples homes or in nature.
- Hang out with people if they want.
- Read, practice, play the guitar
- Most importantly: be mindful, learn what life teaches me, live like I was dancing: light and joyful, sometimes slowly, sometimes fast, and always sensitive to life’s signs.
This is my plan for the next days/weeks.
Sitting outside the bakery I met some Austrians that told me about their lives, travels etc. This gave me the next inspiration: in a new city I will look for a bakeries, coffee shops, or other places to hang out. I will wait for signs of life, talk to people, read and research …and surely something cool will happen. Feels like that would be a great way to find out what to do. Let’s see how it goes! :D
